Archer School For Girls

Archer was founded in 1995 by three women, Megan Callaway, Victoria Shorr, and Dr. Diana Meehan, all graduates of girls’ schools and all parents of daughters who were about to enter middle school. Informed by current research on the clear benefits of single-sex education for girls and guided by their founding principles of innovation, community, and diversity, Archer originally opened in a converted Pacific Palisades dance studio with just over 30 sixth and seventh grade students.

Almost two decades later, Archer’s tremendous growth to 480 students on a seven-acre historic Sunset Boulevard campus is a testament to our role as a model of the renaissance of girls’ schools. The founders’ basic premise – that girls thrive in a learning environment of their own – is now playing out across the country: since the school was founded, over 25 girls’ schools have been founded in the United States.

Brentwood School

In its relatively short history, Brentwood School has grown to be one of the premier independent day schools in Southern California. Founded as a non-profit corporation in 1972, Brentwood School acquired the Brentwood Military Academy, which had existed since 1902.

Brentwood School opened in the fall of 1972 as a co-educational, college preparatory day school with grades 6-10. Grade 11 was added in fall 1973, and the school graduated its first senior class in June 1975.

Visions Day School

VisionsIn 2002, Visions’ Founder Chris Shumow began his mission of creating an adolescent program that provided cutting edge mental health, substance abuse and family treatment.  Since its inception, he has advocated for the family in its e
ntirety. This founder driven center has set the standard for adolescent treatment amongst industry professionals with its clinical acumen and attention to specialized services.

Chris acknowledged the success of Visions would correlate to the strength and unity of his clinical team. He places great value on collaborating with service providers who share the same passion for adolescents and their families.  Since opening, Visions has maintained original founding clinicians while adding several dynamic team members with continued program growth.
